UK Bed Sizes Explained: A Simple Guide to Choosing the Right Size

Choosing the right bed size makes a big difference to how well you sleep and how your bedroom feels. Here’s a quick guide to standard UK bed sizes, along with tips on choosing the right one for your room.

Superking180cm x 200cm (6′ x 6’6″)

Sizes can vary slightly between manufacturers. Always check the product details or ask our team.

Large superking and zip and link

For even more space, some ranges are available in a large superking size. Ask us for exact dimensions.

Zip and link (zipped superking) mattresses are made from two single mattresses zipped together to form a superking. They are ideal for couples who prefer different levels of firmness, and they can be unzipped to make two single beds, which is useful for guest rooms.

How to choose the right size

  • Measure your room: allow space to walk around the bed and open wardrobes and drawers.
  • Think about who is sleeping in it: a double gives each person less width than a single bed. Many couples find a king or superking more comfortable.
  • Check access: consider stairs, doorways and landings, especially for larger beds.
  • Non-standard space? We offer a made-to-measure service on all mattresses and divan beds, so you can get a bed that fits your room perfectly.
